Skid Mounted Chlorine Plants
The request for smaller capacity on site chlorine plants is increasing, according to the trend for the decentralized production of chlorine, caustic soda and hydrogen, to then produce other chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl – bleach) and hydrochloric acid (HCl – muriatic acid), as well as to produce on site chlorine gas (Cl2) to be used as a raw material or intermediate in a full range of other chemical reactions.
UHDENORA can supply cost effective solutions for automatized plants in the range up to 15.000 tons per year of chlorine, supplied as skid mounted units. Use of the standard Uhde BM 2.7 bipolar membrane electrolyzers provides state of the art components and technology at the heart of the plant.
The typical plant footprint is 36 m x 46 m, excluding the space for raw materials and products storage. Other arrangements are possible depending on the actual available space at site.
The standardized engineering contributes to cost reduction. Advantages of skid mounted configuration include the reduction of civil works and erection activities at site, while the high degree of plant automation allows for the safe plant operations with a reduced number of skilled personnel.
Each skid is supplied ready for the installation. Larger sections of plant (i.e. electrolysis room or chlorine emergency absorption) are composed of multiple skid assemblies.
