JOINT VENTURE OF UHDE- Germany AND INDUSTRIE DE NORA - ITALY

Beginning of 2001 Uhde of Dortmund, Germany and Industrie De Nora of Milano, Italy agreed on co-operation in the field of "electrolysis technology".
The two companies combined their technologies and expertise in Research and Development, in order to provide their world-wide Alkaline Chlorine Industry Customers with even better performance in the fields of planning, design, construction and after sales services for electrolysis plants.
The co-operation is based on the foundation of the joint company:
  • Uhdenora S.p.A.
Located in Milan, Uhdenora S.p.A. owns the intellectual properties in the field of "electrolysis technology" of both Uhde and Industrie De Nora and will pursue in straight collaboration with its shareholders further developments in this field.
In the past, both Uhde and Industrie De Nora have already achieved excellent results in the area of membrane electrolyser development.
Synergy effects are expected as a result of pooling the technologies, with the effect that we shall be able to offer better electrolysis plants that meet the high expectations of plant operators both as regards technological and commercial aspects and which will enhance the efficiency of chlorine and caustic soda production.
Uhdenora and Uhde will market the know-how world-wide.
The entrepreneurial management of the joint company lays with Uhde. Due to the new joint-venture we will be able to serve the world market even more efficiently from the locations in Dortmund and Milano.
Thanks to the access to the electrolyser element fabrication and electrode coating facilities of Industrie De Nora network in Italy, Germany, U.S.A., Japan, China, India and Brazil, Uhdenora and Uhde shall be able to offer even better services in this field including maintenance and recoating.
